Winners of the All-Russian contest "Big Break" again visited LIN SB RAS
On September 27, 2022, the participants- winners of the All-Russian contest "Big Break" again visited LIN SB RAS. New groups of schoolchildren of 5-8 grades went by train to return "Vladivostok - St. Petersburg" within the cultural and educational program "Dream Journeys», they stopped at main regional centers of Russia.
Within the excursion, our guests saw a film about the international research expedition "Worlds on Baikal". They had an opportunity to get acquainted with the diving research activity and underwater monitoring, to learn about the differences between heavy and light divers, and the specifics of diving and safety measures. Besides, the schoolchildren visited "Experimental freshwater aquarium complex of Baikal hydrobionts" that is unique scientific facility where the schoolchildren were told about the nuances of aquaculture cultivation of whitefish and experimental works to assess the stress resistance of whitefish.
State educational institution "Center for Development of Additional Education for Children" under the Ministry of Education of Irkutsk region, which performs organizational and excursion support from Irkutsk region, expressed its gratitude for the opportunity to visit LIN SB RAS that is one of the leading research institutions of the region in the sphere of biology, chemistry, physics, geology and geography.
