On February 12, a series of popular science lectures dedicated to International Darwin Day took place at "Ogon`", the Center for Contemporary Art.

The program included presentations by prominent scientists from Siberian research institutes. The audience was presented with reports that addressed a diverse array of subjects: spanning from Charles Darwin`s contributions to modern science to inquiries regarding the evolution of viruses, the immune system, and the application of genomic technologies.

Representatives of Limnological Institute SB RAS, Irkutsk Anti-Plague Research Institute, Research Institute of Biology of Lake Baikal, Siberian Institute of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry SB RAS, along with Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology and Irkutsk Regional Astronomical Society gave lectures.
