Over 250 laboratories participated in the inter-laboratory intercalibration carried out by the IAEA, including the paleolimnology laboratory of LIN SB RAS (responsible - Ph.D., junior researcher O.G. Stepanova). Stable isotopes of hydrogen and oxygen were determined in test samples of water. In order to renew the instrumentation pool, samples were analyzed using the Picarro L2130-i device that was acquired as part of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science program. Despite the fact that some samples had isotopic characteristics not typical for Lake Baikal and regional atmospheric precipitation, the use of methodological approaches and internal standards developed in the paleolimnology laboratory enabled to reliably determine their composition.
