Employees of LIN SB RAS successfully spoke at the III-th International Conference “Lakes of Eurasia: problems and ways to solve them”

The employees of LIN SB RAS took an active part in the III-th International Conference “Lakes of Eurasia: Problems and Ways to Solve Them,” which was held on May 20-24, 2025 in Kazan. Laboratory of Hydrology and Hydrophysics, Department of Cell Ultrastructure and Laboratory of Aquatic Invertebrate Biology represented the Institute.

Plenary paper:

V.N. Sinyukovich – “Problems of rational use of the water resources of Lake Baikal”

Reports for workshop “HYDROLOGICAL AND HYDROPHYSICAL PROCESSES IN LAKES”:

I.A. Aslamov, R.Yu. Gnatovsky, M.M. Makarov, I.N. Tyurnev, V.V. Blinov “Climatic changes and thermobaric instability of the upper layer of Lake Baikal hypolimnion during summer stratification”

I.A. Aslamov, K.M. Kucher, M.M. Makarov “Autonomous meter of vertical distribution of hydrophysical parameters”

E.S. Troitskaya, N.M. Budnev, M.N. Shimaraev “Changes in the heat content of the water column in the slope region of South Baikal in 2000-2024”

Reports for workshop “ECOSYSTEMS OF LAKES. HYDROBIOLOGICAL STUDIES”:

Yu.R. Zakharova, M.V. Bashenkhaeva, A.D. Firsova, A.Yu. Bessudova, I.V. Tomberg, M.V. Sakirko, Ye.D. Bedoshvili, L.I. Kopyrina, Ye.V. Likhoshway “General patterns and regional characteristics of phytoplankton in the under-ice communities of Lake Baikal and subarctic lakes of Eastern Yakutia”

N.A. Bondarenko, N.G. Sheveleva, O.G. Penkova “Space-time heterogeneity of plankton of Lake Baikal in the under-ice period”

The reports presented generated an interest of participants and became a talking point. Participation in the conference allowed the staff of LIN SB RAS to demonstrate the results of their research and up-to-date methods of work, share their experience with colleagues, discuss crucial problems of preserving and using lake ecosystems in a changing climate and anthropogenic impact.
