LIN SB RAS began navigation in 2026 on Lake Baikal
Since May 26, an expedition on hydroacoustic and trawl accounting of omul in the Selenginsky shallow water has been taking place on the R/V G.Yu. Vereshchagin.
From May 27 to June 1, an expedition will be carried out on the R/V Akademik Koptyug to study the chemical composition of the atmosphere, the waters of the lake and its tributaries, and bottom sediments of Southern Baikal.
From May 29 to June 10, the dynamics of the formation of sponge communities in the lake`s littoral will be studied on the R/V Titov on model polygons, and automatic temperature loggers will be updated.
On June 1-12, hydrochemical indicators and phytoplankton of the Baikal littoral zone will be studied on the R/V Papanin.
Hydrophysical and hydrochemical parameters, phyto- and zooplankton, and sanitary-microbiological indicators of water quality will be studied on the R/V G.Yu. Vereshchagin in the pelagic zone of Lake Baikal from June 1–15.
In general, 295 boat-days of field work are planned for navigation (until November 1, 2026).
